ONA Dues Rebate
ONA union members may apply for a dues rebate. The details for the rebate program and qualifiers to receive a rebate are within the Dues Rebate Policy.
The application for a rebate must be submitted by March 31st for the preceding calendar year. Documentation to verify hours worked must be submitted with the application.
Rebate Calculation:
i. Any registered nurse who is represented for the purposes of collective bargaining by ONA and who has fewer than 1,000 hours paid in the preceding calendar year, subject to verification, may qualify for a twenty-five (25) percent dues rebate.
ii. Any registered nurse who is represented for the purposes of collective bargaining by ONA and who has fewer than 500 hours paid in the preceding calendar year, subject to verification, may qualify for a fifty (50) percent dues rebate.

Dues Rebate Policy
The purpose of this Policy is to facilitate the functional ability of Per Diem collective bargaining members to maintain status as members in good standing pursuant to Article III, Section 2, of ONA’s Bylaws, and to act as a safeguard to help maintain ONA as a solvent organization.
I. Criteria for Reduced Rate
A. The reduced dues amount shall only apply to members represented by an ONA collective bargaining agreement for the following reasons:
i. Collective Bargaining Agreement contains security language that requires a member to
maintain status as a member in good standing as a condition of the nurses’ employment or face termination of employment.
ii. Member is employed at a public sector facility wherein ONA cannot legally administer
security language due to the Janus v. AFSCME decision in 2018 which states nurses in public facilities are not required to pay dues, but still receive all the union benefits.
II Payment Calculation & Reduced Rates
A. The amount paid to ONA shall be in accordance with ONA’s Bylaws and shall only apply to:
i. Any registered nurse who is represented for the purposes of collective bargaining by ONA and who has fewer than 1,000 hours paid in the preceding calendar year, subject to
verification, may qualify for a twenty-five (25) percent dues rebate.
ii. Any registered nurse who is represented for the purposes of collective bargaining by ONA and who has fewer than 500 hours paid in the preceding calendar year, subject to verification, may qualify for a fifty (50) percent dues rebate.
