May 6-12 –  same days every year – is that wonderful time we celebrate ourselves and our profession.  That’s right.  Nurses Week.  Ohio Nurse would like to know about the many ways we observe and honor this special week, all throughout Ohio.  CE events? Awards? ‘Visits’ from Florence? Ceremonies? Luncheons? Gifts? Programs? Banners?  Wellness activities? Anything we haven’t thought of?

Please describe how you celebrate Nurses Week.  Alternatively, tell about a past memorable Nurses Week you have experienced.  We’d like to hear from nurses who work in hospitals, communities, schools, social agencies, and anywhere Ohio nurses work.  We’d like to hear from groups – professional organizations, work groups, friends, and from individuals.  We’d simply like an overall picture of how Ohio honors and celebrates one incredible profession, and one incredible founder – Florence Nightingale.

Then, look for a follow-up Ohio Nurse article highlighting our celebrations in the July issue.  Yes, we’d really like to share.
