ONA PCE

[/section]

ONA maintains a Political Contributing Entity (PCE) (also known as a political action committee or PAC), which is vital part of any successful legislative program.  The PCE is a transparent, state-monitored fund that not only gives all ONA members the opportunity to have influence at the Statehouse, but also allows for nurses to speak with one, unified voice.

Unless specified otherwise, $1 per month of each member’s dues goes to fund the PCE. Campaign contributions are then made to candidates who are supportive of nursing’s legislative agenda.  A silent auction is also held during ONA’s biennial Convention to raise additional funds.

Nurses who serve on the Health Policy Council are informed of upcoming political issues and play a key role in deciding who will receive contributions.
